efe Consultants specialises in forensic investigations involving electrical failures, fires and explosions. We provide expert forensic engineering consultancy services to private individuals, organisations within the energy, construction and manufacturing sectors, as well as loss adjusters, insurers and legal professionals.
Mr Edwin Low is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (UK), the international body for fire professionals. He is also an Associate Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, an independent professional body dedicated to arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
With over 20 years of experience, Edwin has conducted more than 400 forensic investigations across Brunei, Cambodia, China, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, and Vietnam. His casework spans a broad range of facilities, including residential properties, shopping malls, warehouses, data centres, cleanrooms, fossil fuel power plants (coal-fired, diesel-fired and natural gas), renewable energy facilities (hydroelectric, wind turbines, and solar photovoltaic systems—both land-based and floating FPV installations), shipyards, vessels, and offshore platforms. These investigations are frequently undertaken in anticipation of litigation, and Edwin has provided expert witness testimony in both court proceedings and arbitration hearings.
Edwin possesses deep expertise in medium-voltage (MV), high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) electrical systems. His experience covers underground and subsea cables, cable joints, busbars, switchgear systems (vacuum-insulated, air-insulated AIS, and gas-insulated GIS), circuit breakers, ring main units (RMUs), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, diesel rotary UPS (DRUPS) systems, large industrial motors, wind turbine generators, distribution transformers, power transformers and generator transformers.
