efe Consultants specialises in forensic investigations of electrical failures, fires and explosions. We provide expert forensic engineering consultancy to private individuals, clients in the energy, construction and manufacturing sectors, as well as loss adjusters, insurers and legal professionals.
Mr Edwin Low is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (UK), the international body for fire professionals, and an Associate Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, an independent professional body focused on arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
With over 20 years of experience, Edwin has conducted more than 400 forensic investigations into electrical failures and fires within Brunei, Cambodia, China, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States of America, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. His investigations have covered a wide range of sites, including residential premises, shopping malls, warehouses, data centres, cleanrooms, fossil fuel power plants (coal-fired, diesel-fired & natural gas combustion), renewable energy power plants (hydroelectric, wind turbines, solar photovoltaic systems including land-based PVs & floating FPVs), shipyards, vessels and offshore facilities. These investigations are conducted in anticipation of litigation, and Edwin has given expert witness testimony in court proceedings and arbitrations.
Edwin has extensive expertise in medium-voltage (MV), high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) electrical failures. His experience spans underground cables, cable joints, busbars, switchgear (vacuum-insulated, air-insulated AIS and gas-insulated GIS), circuit breakers, ring main units (RMUs) uninterruptible power supply units (UPS), diesel rotary uninterruptible power supply units (DRUPS), large commercial motors, wind turbine generators, distribution transformers, power transformers and generator transformers.
